Celebrate the coming winter months with the 2017 DeMayo Chardonnay, whose nose embodies the archetypal grandmother’s kitchen. Pound cake, baked cinnamon apple and almond creme aromas complement this creamy Chardonnay, but don’t expect a total butterball. The 2017 has an impressively long finish, and this vintage’s acidity graces its palate with structure, length, and the crisp flavors of a granny smith apple. Just as with last year, the increased use of French oak and inclusion of the Hoffman block shift the palate toward orchard fruit, but we predict its juicy tropical aromatics to emerge with time.
Ready to drink now but will evolve with proper cellaring through 2023.
